Procesual Painting

A series of large-format canvases where the image turns into an object and loses its illustrative qualities, and painting becomes important in the context of the process conducted with the material. In this case, the result of the process of working and fighting plays the role of a trace of presence — my presence as an artist, a person who is part of a certain time, circumstances, people, a carrier of a concrete culture. The process itself takes place on canvas hooked on snap hooks and stretched on metal wires like a piece of leather, the image-object appears as a kind of social body, subjected to the process of change. Paint, pigments and glue are forcibly rubbed into the matter, causing it to deform, extend and tear.
